Katerina Tolkachev
Co-Founder & CEO
Currently a senior In high school, Katerina has been severely allergic to a number of foods including peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish, and milk since she was an infant. She has always been inspired to take action regarding her food allergies. While in elementary school, Katerina produced a short film about food allergies called KARMA that won a national contest. She also spent three years in the ViaSkin Peanut Patch clinical trial at Rady's Childrens Hospital. In middle school, Katerina became a patient at Southern California Food Allergy Institute (SCFAI) where she is currently working to achieve food freedom in their Tolerance Induction Program (TIP). She was inspired by all of these experiences to found Food Allergy Grades and build an app that makes life easier for people with food allergies. Katerina is interested in how the intersection of technology, medicine, and public policy can improve health outcomes. She plans on studying global health and/or health policy in college while on a pre-med track. She also enjoys swimming competitively on three teams, volunteering in her community as a swim coach and a Marketing Director for Hearts to Heroes, and working as a private swim instructor and a Social Media Manager for a tutoring company.
Jacob Wang
Co-Founder & President
Jacob Wang is a high school senior in Irvine, California. He suffers from life-threatening food allergies to multiple different foods including eggs, milk, peanuts, tree nuts, and shellfish. Jacob Is working towards food freedom thanks to the unique treatment program at Southern California Food Allergy Institute in Long Beach. As an avid swimmer and UC San Diego swimming commit, Jacob trains for three or more hours per day. In his time away from the pool, he loves taking naps, bingeing Netflix, competing in triathlons, or just doing something active.

Khushi Shukla is a sophomore from Sacramento, California. She is interested in the medical field and global health. Khushi is working for Food Allergy Grades to make the lives of so many people easier. She competes on her school’s golf team and practices taekwondo. In her free time, Khushi likes to hang out with friends or watch movies.

Developer
Ben McGovern is a junior in high school who has had a severe allergy to peanuts since age one. He is interested in programming, (computer) engineering, aviation, music, and photography. Since a toddler, Ben has tinkered with whatever he can find to figure out how things work. Now, he is a strong supporter of open source software/hardware because there are so many people who want to us It for the good of humanity. Ben Is excited to be a part of creating something that can help everyone with food allergies at FA Grades.

Ei Aung is a junior from Upstate New York. Ever since she was a child, Ei has had a deep interest in global health, medicine, and making an impact in the world. In her free time she loves to run, workout, and go thrifting. Ei runs for her high school's cross country and track teams year round.
